Route

Day One – Starting near at Podimore services. A303 near Yeovil ,this route crosses head south towards Blanford Forum and Dorchester.

Day Two – Starting in Weymouth and heads west along  the  coast towards Lyme Regis then up through the Yarty Valley, Honiton and finally on towards Taunton

The lanes are very mixed, with woods, open downlands, steep valleys and with plenty of fords plus a drive along the pebbles of Chesil Beach which is a unique experience.

Vehicle Suitability

As with much of Devon, it’s hard to avoid lanes without a few intruding hedgerows, and this route is no exception .Only suitable for older vehicles where you are not worried about your paintwork. The route includes many fords, some of which are deep and long – Snorkels highly recommended . There are some tricky sections, but these are all passable with care in a standard 4×4.
